Itinerary description
This is not a circular route and you have two options for hiking it. You can start from Gjendesheim and then, on completion of the walk, get the ferry back from Memerubu. Alternatively, and this is what we did, you can take the early morning ferry from Gjendesheim to Memerubu and walk back. This seemed the most reasonable option as there is no stress about missing the ferry back. A days parking at Gjendesheim is 150kr. The hike is not for the unfit or for those who struggle with heights as the are a couple of exposed sections.
