Itinerary description
This is an easy tour to get to know the lay out of the valley in which Órgiva is situated, the Guadalfeo valley in the Alpujarra.
The first part of the walk is along the acequia to the river Chico, a narrow but lovely track that broadens as soon as you get to the river.
What follows then is a broad dirt track to the hamlet of Bayacas.
There the track turns east and becomes a narrow track up the hill that will gradually give you very nice views of the surroundings and the higher situated villages Canar, Carataunas, and Soportujar as well as the mountains of the Sierra Nevada up to 2000 metres.
This short but quite spectacular stretch will take you to the Mirador Sierra de Lujar,
located above the cemetery, which gives a roundabout superb view of the Guadalfeo valley and the Chico River.
From the Mirador the track descends to Orgiva, giving you good views of the city.
