Itinerary description
The Calle Capuchinos in San Juan Capistrano, an urbanizacion in the northern part of Nerja, is a good starting point for this walk if you are by car or by bus.
The first part of the walk, a climb from 200 to 400m. is along a very nice narrow track that goes up through the woods which means you will enjoy the shade on this part of the walk.
Arriving at an open space at an insignificant col you will descend 20 to 30 metres and then shortly go up again ariving at a point from which you have a good view of Frigiliana to the west.
The track descends through the woods giving you nice views of the surrounding hills until you arrive at a crossroads at 190m.
Here you will turn left and descend towards the Rio Chillar at 120m along a very nice and imposing track through a gully with bizarre rock formations. You will see an impressive cave on the right hand side shortly before arriving at an 'acequia' from which the track steeply descends to the dirt road alongside the Rio Chillar.
This dirt road will become a road and will take you back to the outskirts of Nerja and then up again to the starting point.

Difficult !
??? Ik really can't see any difficulty on this walk. It is a little steep, only a few times, and maybe a bit strenuous if you are not used to hill walking, but it is definitely not a difficult walk🙂
Prachtige route!
