Itinerary description
We parked our car on the outskirts of Nerja, Fuente del Badén, but you could also start this walk from the parking place at the Cueva de Nerja.
The first part, after going under the A7, is a nice stretch which you would miss if you started at the Cueva de Nerja.
This part of the track takes you through open country and gives you good views of the surroundings.
You will gradually ascend through the canyon to a height of 320m. and be confronted with an amazing amount of caves, and unusual, beautiful, impressive rock formations along a very green track which must be relatively cool even in summer.
Arriving at the GR249 from Nerja to Frigiliana you will be at the highest point of the walk and from there a broad dirt road that goes to the Area Recreativa Pinarillo will lead you to the Cueva de Nerja, but we took a track leading us past the Urbanizacion Ladera del Aguila after which a narrow track descends steeply to cross the Aroyo de Cazadores and ascends steeply deep under the impressive viaduct of the A7 also giving you a superb view on the aquaduct del Aguila.
