Itinerary description
The original starting point of this walk is the centre of Lanjarón on the main road but as we already walked through the centre of Lanjarón on an earlier visit, 14-12-2021, we started at the entrance of Lanjarón, coming from the south west.
From the A 348 we took the mountainbike route up and after the second bend turned east to walk alongside Lanjarón on a higher altitude which gives you nice views of the town, the canyon to the south, the Castillo, and the mountains to the south.
On this stretch you will follow the PR A 345 for a while and automatically arrive at a junction from where you pick up the Sendero Acequia Aceituno.
This is a really beautiful walk along some of the many canals of this area. The track is well indicated and leads you to the most interesting and scenic corners of the mountainside. The views are extensive.
After the 'waterfall' at Alberca de Aceituno the track ascends from 760 to 880 metres to a wonderfully situated Area Recreativa, a beautiful place for a picknick.
From here the track ascends to the highest point of the walk( 920m) and what follows is a very scenic part with extensive views and the streaming water of the canal beside you.
Gradually you will descend to an info panel about the old threshing circles in the area and after that arrive at one of the many narrow roads that will take you back to the starting point.
