I did the route the day after doing the route from Sari to Chopta that you can see here
Saree - Deoriatal - Chopta
The route starts from the town of Chopta. It is a very popular route, so it is advisable to start it early, at dawn, to be able to do it alone. I started it at 4:30 with a totally clear sky and not a soul around
The path to the temple is completely paved. In the snowy season, even when it is paved, it is a tricky path because it is filled with ice that makes it difficult to advance. Arriving at the temple there are a series of railings to support you that make it easier, even so there are moments that are quite compromised and that I have had to get on all fours.
The arrival at the temple has already been stepping on fresh snow. The scene is beautiful. From the temple there is only one kilometer to the top and 200 meters of unevenness. At first, the climb is comfortable and finally it zigzags, sensing the path. It can be complicated if the wind is not with us and impossible to do it, at least without poles. The descent is to drop towards the temple.
I consider the difficulty moderate for having done it with snow. Many people might consider it difficult as they are on the limit of needing specific material. However, I did it only with sticks. It is inadvisable to do it late in the morning because clouds tend to get in as the day progresses
