Itinerary description
What a really incredible route! If you are looking for distance but flat, then this is a great route.
First, in T1 at the airport, it was a bit of cluster trying to find Parking Lot G. This lot is an outdoor lot and poorly labeled. We walked through parking deck D to go outside to G. In the middle of parking lot G is a ramp that takes you under the highway and off airport grounds.
Here the hike starts! There is quite a bit of beach/sand walking so wear proper shoes. Additionally, there is a tributary in front of the airport and the bridge was was out. We had to take off our shoes and wade across (about knee deep) the water (about 2 meters wide).
It was neat to see the planes take off and land. The delta was a little monotonous but we needed distance. We didn’t have time to wait for animals to appear. The beaches were very pretty. Overall, a surprisingly good hike.
