Envoltant el poble hi trobem una carena de muntanyes que arriben als 600 m d’altura i que les mes accessibles son un bon punt per gaudir del sol de mitja nit. Una d’aquestes muntanyes es el Nonstind, de 483 m. Tot i no ser un cim espectacular, ens permet gaudir de impressionants vistes de la platja d’Unstad al Nord, del Steinsfjorden al Sud, i de la veïna illa de Flakstadoya al Sud-Oest. Pujar al cim no es difícil. Des de l’aparcament de la platja comencem a caminar per una pista al costat de la platja. Travessem una tanca i continuem caminant uns metres més fins que trobem una sèrie de senders que s’enfilen fins a Utdalsvatnet. Des del llac ens enfilem per una costeruda carena per un camí ben marcat fins assolir la cota 375. Hi ha un curt tram on cal travessar una zona rocosa on el camí es fa perdedor; en aquest punt cal decantar-se pel costat dret. Superat el tram rocós i assolida la cota 375, el camí es suavitza i per un terreny herbós s’assoleix fàcilment el cim del Nonstind. Gaudiu de les vistes. Des del cim val la pena desplaçar-se uns metres al sud per poder gaudir de la visió del Steinsfjorden. La tornada es fa per el mateix camí.

We cross a fence and continue walking a few more meters until we find a series of paths that climb up to Utdalsvatnet. From the lake we climb a steep ridge along a well-marked path until we reach elevation 375. There is a short stretch where you have to cross a rocky area where the path becomes lost; at this point you must opt for the right side. After overcoming the rocky section and reaching elevation 375, the path becomes smoother and through a grassy terrain the summit of Nonstind is easily reached. Enjoy the stunning views. From the top it is worth moving a few meters to the south to be able to enjoy the view of the Steinsfjorden. The return is made along the same path.
