Itinerary description
Hike is 18 miles (29 kilometres) with 510m of climbing. The route is split into two parts: from East Grinstead to Kingscote (6K) and from Sheffield Park back to East Grinstead (23K). In between, there is a 9 miles (15 kilometres) steam train journey on the Bluebell Railway from Kingscote to Sheffield Park during the height of the bluebell season. It is called the Bluebell Railway for a reason.
Other highlights include a section of the Sussex Ouse Valley Path, Weir Wood Reservoir and a wonderful mix of High Weald woodland, open countryside and an abundance of spectacularly beautiful bluebells.
