Itinerary description

A hike passing over the summits of Roque de Los Brezos, Roque Imoque and Roque del Conde in the south of the island. The hike starts from the road above Arona on a track next to the Oliver's Out of Town restaurant and follows the Camino del Topo to the El Refugio restaurant. Shortly after passing the restaurant, the route leaves the main track and descends into the Barranco del Rey before climbing to a large threshing floor at the Degollada de Ifonche. Here, the route climbs to the summits of Roque de Los Brezos and Roque Imoque. The rocky 'turret' on the summit of Roque Imoque is not really suitable for walkers but there is a panoramic path just below the cliffs from which there are superb views of the surrounding countryside. From the pass, the Camino de Suarez is followed to the Degollada de Los Frailitos where a path is followed to the summit of Roque del Conde. This path, as it nears the top has some narrow exposed ledges to negotiate and a little scrambling using hands as well as feet may be necessary. The well walked trail to Arona is followed for the descent to a ruined house by two threshing floors. Here, the main path is left for an indistinct path that is often difficult to find. This is followed to the Camino Viejo de Adeje which is followed briefly before following tracks to the village of Chayofa. Here you will find numerous bars and a bus stop behind the Tasca del Arte. The walk can also be finished in Vento/Arona. To make the walk circular, follow the descent path from the summit of Conde to the village of Vento and road walk back to the start point.
