Itinerary description
A hike in the Land of the Springs. The Hohe Venn (Hautes Fagnes) is the source of the Statte, Sawe and Hoegne. The courses of the streams are wild and unspoilt. We visited in fall, but the area is interesting at any time of the year, for sure.
The trails are often rough, but there are many footbridges and gangplanks that criss-cross from one side to the other.
Our trail starts a little uphill from the pub at the bridge Belleheid (Waypoint 2). It is possible to begin and end the hike here - this will save a few hundred meters.
The trail involves quite some up and down. After all, you have to cross from one valley into the other and into the next.
The area is much frequented especially at nice weekends, and it may not be easy to secure a seat in the pub. But the many guests seem to disappear once you set out on the trail.

Superbe randonnée avec des paysages variés, de nombreux petits ponts et autres caillebotis, en collines et le long de ruisseau et rivière, dans les feuillus et les sapins, sur des chemins tantôt larges, tantôt étroits et sinueux. À faire et à refaire aux quatre saisons.

lovely! I've been on a couple of walks in the area, this must be my very favourite. not too long, exceptionally beautiful, and starting a bit further from the overcrowded parking lots is an additional bonus point. thank you!

Very nice walk, with lots of different scenery - thanks for the upload, we really enjoyed it. The first/last part is somewhat less interesting and can be skipped by those looking for a shorter walk ( /-10KM) starting from the parking site by the river. The trail can be slippery with fallen leaves and/or occasionally muddy after rain, so bring good shoes.
