Itinerary description
Said to be one of Switzerland's most beautiful hikes. Not sure if that's true, but it certainly is a stunning hike. Take a cable car from Engelberg to the start point at Trübsee. For the very lazy who don't want to do any uphill work, take a second cable car from Trübsee to Jochpass. Finish at Melchsee-Frutt, where you take another cable car down to Stöckalp. The hike can be done in either direction. Very good public transport links at both ends. SBB offers a good-value combined train/bus/cable car package. Picturesque Swiss alpine meadow scenery along the way.
