Itinerary description
Note: This is an updated version of the track '5 LACS / SENTIER DES ROCHES' by Pauline D - Posted on October 2018 - Credits to the original trailblazer!
This hike is a marvelous and intense route through one of the spectacular sections of the vosges. It takes you past 5 lakes on different altitudes and lets you cross the 'Sentier de Roches', a famous section with great drops and boulders.
This route is not recommended for children or people that are afraid of hights since it features small pathways and steep drops. The length and altimeters require a good fitnesslevel. Hiking poles are recommended.
The route features a small cafe after the 'Sentier de Roches' section (about 13km into the hike) where you can get a meal (or a beer!) and an Auberge (about 18km into the hike). There are no supermarkets or shops to restock supplies so bring enough food and water.
Getting there: The route starts and finishes near a small holiday resort called 'Chalets de la Wormsa. You can park there for free. The location is '72 Rue de l'Altenhof, 68380 Metzeral, Frankrijk'
