Itinerary description
Walk No.54 from Patrick Elvin's "40 Half Day walks in the Serrania de Ronda and Jimena area". A challenging walk with a big climb near the end to the trig point of Tajo Bermeja (1137 metres), but you are well rewarded with amazing 360 degree views.

At the junction go left by a red and white cross on rocks
As you approach a large gate at a junction, leave the main track and fork left.

Follow the main track around to the left and uphill
Head for the white house you can see above you, and then bear right towards the fence. You'll pick up a good path which follows the line of the fence.

Quarry area
About 1 hour 10 minutes from the start of the walk to here. There are views on both sides. A good place for a short rest and a snack before tackling the climb which is awaiting you.

Keep left of the yellow building and walk up the valley
There are some goat paths but you are just aiming to walk up the middle of the valley to the ridge ahead and above you. This is a stiff climb and is rocky underfoot.
