8d Barcelona Roses , 3 Tossa CD BCN20

Monday 2020Jan06, Bank Holiday (3 Kings / Epiphany). Planning 28km, +/-600m, 8h. Details below. (En anglès, perquè espero que tingui continuació internacional.) *** This is part of a longer route, together with previous and future walks which have "BCN20" in the title, meaning "from Barcelona, year 2020". Could be continued with "BCN21" etc. ***
!! The bridge at km5.3 has been destroyed by a flooding on 2020Jan22, two weeks after this walk. There is another road bridge a bit upriver !!
From this day on, I carry a backpack, 9kg(including winter clothing for the Pyrenees - planned route up to 1400m - 6spike half crampons, stuff for hotel nights) + food and water (varying, depending on infrastructure).
This morning I arrive on GR92 [see below] , which I plan to follow for several days until L'Escala.

Malgrat train station (09:10 = start) - 2. shortly after leaving the coast (09:40) views: right to the tower on the hill at Blanes (reached later), left to Montseny Mountain (1.700m, no snow, not white), straight ahead to snow covered Pyrenees. - 3. Blanes Beach (10:40) - 4. Tower of the Castle above Blanes (11:30) with Montseny to the left and Pyrenees on the right (not visible due to low photo quality) - 5. lunch break at Lloret (13:00-13:25) - 6. nearing Canyelles beach (14:45) - 7. Hotel Turissa, near Ayuntament (17:05 = finish).

[GR92 is a GR that follows the complete Catalan Coast, either closely or along hills a bit away (unlike "Camí de Ronda", which is always closest to the Coast and starts at Blanes). GR = Gran Recorregut (Catalan) = Grande Randonnée (French) are long hiking trails. They are marked with a red and a white bar. A red-and-white cross means "don't enter here". L-shaped marks for changes of direction. Way numbers on signpost or where 2 GR meet. This kind of trails exist in various countries.]
