Itinerary description
This is an 12.7Km linear costal walk via the GR92 starting from Sant Vincens de Calders on the regional train network. The route terminates in Torredembarra passing via many long beaches and the the picturesque fishing village of El Roc De Santa Gaieta.
From Renfe Sant Vincens de Calders train station cut through the town to get to the coast passing the natural thermal pond. The pond feeds into a river onto Comarruga beach. From here walk along the beach or passeig Maratim to El Francas and Beach.
After Francas Beach is Port de Roda de bera marina. Cross the Marina and walk across or around Punta d' en Guineu beach and follow the scenic garden path through the historic houses and shops of El Roc De Santa Gaieta.
El Roc De Santa Gaieta has radio museum in the historic centre along the trail. This is the Luis del Olmo collection of more than 540 historic radio sets through the ages as well as prizes awarded to radio journalists. The museum also has a room dedicated to the architect and artist Joseph Maria Jujol (collaborator of Gaudi).
El Roc De Santa Gaieta is full of restaurants. I recommend eating here and taking a swim at Punta d'en Guineu Beach. Leaving the town via a very scenic coastal path and Dels Capellans beach the next point of interest is Platja larga - long beach in Roda de Bera. From here walk along the beach or passeig Maratim to Creixell beach and port Roma.
After passing through the small village of port Roma continue along the beach passing via Platja dels Muntanyans, Platja del barri Maratim and Baix a Mar beaches. Now in Torredembarra enjoy some Patatas bravas, tapas and wine. The train station is a couple of streets behind the beachfront.
