Itinerary description
The Osona area, with it's municipal capital being the town of vic, is full of magical places of spectacular natural beauty. One of my favorites is the the Fageda de la Grevolosa, an old forest with beeches that exceed 30 meters in height and some specimens over 200 years old.
This is a circular 15km route from Collada de Bracons. Take the ridge line footpath going up via several peeks: El Tosell Xic, Puig Tosell Gros, Puig de les Civaderes and a mountain plain to Puigsacalm with spectacutlar views over the valleys below. This section of the route follows a cliff top path to Puig dels Llops a rocky headland with spectacular panoramic views. Wind depending, this is a good place to stop for a snack.
Once finished enjoying the views the route crosses back via the mountain plain and enters the forest via a descending path through beautiful forests until reaching a cross in the path called Collada se Sant Bartomeu. Look here for a narrow path that goes straight on into dense forest towards Coll de Gallina, Collet de la Foradada and Coll de Joan. These are mini summits along the path.
Eventually this path gets to a style and gate. look around to the left for a path that goes down into a forested rocky cutting. Follow this path all the way down through the forest until reaching a u bend on a road. follow the road a short way down to the left looking out for a farm track on the left leading back into the forest.
Along this farm trail there will be a footpath on the right that takes us to Capella de Sant Nazari. This chapel is normally closes but is a good place to stop and have a snack outside on the picnic benches. From here there is a gradual uphill path in the forest back to the parking at Collada de Bracons.
