Itinerary description
Abarán - Cuesta Alta
From Abaran, one signs follow inwards to Rambla de Benito. After arriving in the Rambla there are many places to park on the way inwards. The trip is quite long, so you may want to drive a bit inwards. On the way inwards there may be some water in the road. The ascension is quite straightforward, when one has come and meets the roundabout, choose the path that goes up to the right. The trip north along the mountain side offers a beautiful view and it is easy to walk. When one comes to the Sanatorium, the ascension begins, there is a steep and simple place narrow, so the shape should be alright. After arriving, it is nice to go on a road down the mountain side on the SW side. The best thing is to go on this road to a come below the forest. One goes past the abandoned house (Casa de la Oracion) on the left side, after one has crossed the road up to the house, take a first road on the left. Follow this road (pista forestal de los cuchillos) across Rambla de Benito. At the end of the road there is a little narrow and simple place steep down the path down to Rabla de Benito. After descending into Rabla de Benito, just follow the valley to the east, there may be some wet places.
