The Arroyo Bartolo will flow under the track unless a period of exceptional rain has preceded the walker, when water will flow over a cemented section of the track.

Leave the track behind and follow this narrow path uphill through the vegetation until another cairn marks a tight right turn in the path. At this point the path towards the Venta drops slightly and crosses the stream - the Barranco de los Atajo.
