The official end and start point for this walk. Since its a round walk you can start every where but this was praktical for us (and our car could not cross the river). When you drive from Torrox or Competa the helipad with the road to the startpoint is somewhere at km mark 7...7,5on this road. You even can leave your car on the helipad and walk from there but that adds half an our to reach our start point. It is also possibleto drive to Acebuchal from Frigiliana, and start in Acebuchal. No 4x4 needed when you appoach Acebuchal from Frigiliana....

300m climb. Nice view on the surroundings A short cut to acebuchal in half hour is possible from here I was told. However we went for the longer walk.

Take a look on thos small mountain to on your right. Our walk goes left, more up. You can also take a short cut to Acebuchal when you want to go for a beer and not for more walking

Historia de Acebuchal. Originally founded in the 17th century, the village sits on a traditional muleteers’ route between Granada and Malaga. There are various names associated with the village of El Acebuchal – “the Lost Village” and “the Ghost Village – el Pueblo Fantasma,” are the two that seem to be most commonly used.
