Itinerary description
Beautiful circular route, split into 3 differing sections; red earth/gorse/heather, quasi-rainforest woodland and eucalyptus forest with a rich diversity of flora.
Possibly overgrown in places. But well worth checking out for those looking for a c. 15km outing.

Update: we walked this route on 21.04.2022, at this moment the path is nowhere overgrown. We walked after rainfall, be aware of slippery parts. If you want to ascend the steep part and not descend, do the route clockwise. Thanks @William for sharing this epic trail!
13-02-24, clockwise, the red clay/mud is slippery. Levadas are not as well maintained as others, especially the southeastern part. Flooded parts, railing gone, trees have fallen over the levada due to fires and landslides. Would not bring children or pets, would bring high walking boots and sense of adventure;)
