Ahorcaperros desde Buena Vista, Mijas, Málaga

I was asked by a few friends to take them to the Ahorcaperros (Hang the Dog) Peak in the eastern part of the Mijas mountains. I don´t know whether it was the name that attracted them or a genuine desire to walk up the short but tough route to the peak. We went to and from the walk by public bus, getting off at the bus stop near the Buena Vista Urbanisation, through which we had to walk to get to the start of the walk. The route is very well defined and there is no chance of getting lost. The last 100m is a little difficult, but worth it for the final view and the sense of being "at the top". The surface for the descent is a bit tricky, and care has to be taken. We were lucky to see some rare orchids and mountain flowers. It was a beautiful morning, we enjoyed the exhilarating walk and the four of us had great "craic".
Unos amigos me pidieron llevarlos al Pico de Ahorcaperros en la parte este de las montañas de Mijas. Desconozco si les atrajera el nombre del Pico, o las ganas de hacer este camino corto pero algo duro. Fuimos en el autobús de línea bajando en la parada de la Urbanización de Buena Vista, por donde hay que andar para llegar a donde verdaderamente empieza la ruta. Es un camino muy bien definido sin peligro de perderse. Los últimos 100m son difíciles pero vale la pena hacerlos para las vistas y el gusto de haber "conquistado el pico". La bajada es algo arriesgado por la superficie y hay que andar con cuidado. Tuvimos la suerte de ver algunas orquídeas y floras de los montes. Ha sido una mañana preciosa, nos ha gustado el camino corto pero estimulante, y los cuatro hemos tenido mucho "craic" (una palabra irlandesa-gálica que significa que "lo hemos pasado muy divertido")
