Aiguafreda - Font dels Enamorats - Riera Martinet - La Frau - Aiguafreda de Dalt - Font dels Enamorats

Park up by the residencia and Font dels Enamorats. It's an easy walk, which is mainly in the shade, with a few sunny patches. There is a train to Aiguafreda but the starting point is a couple of kms out of town so not ideal.

We did the same walk on the same day last year and were really surprised at the difference in the river. Last year there was a flowing, full river. This year, a lot of the river bed was dry and the river was not flowing and mainly puddles. Need some rain.

Even so, it's a nice walk. We did a slightly different route this year. Start off by following the yellow and white signs heading for Aiguafreda de Salt and follow the path along the (dry) river. The first gorg is La Resclosa, which was pretty much dry (July 2021), the second, just after is Gorg de la Sort. Last year this was a lovely swimming hole with a small waterfall, this year, no waterfall and a small area of water at the bottom. Cross the bridge and climb up the other side. Rope there to help, although not really necessary (might be in wet weather).

This part of the route is very sunny, but not too long before you get to La Frau, Centre d'Art i Natura by Paco Ballesteros. Check out the cool sculptures, which this year were fenced off, but you still get a good view of them.

Then, follow the path round to the right and over the (dry) river bed. Last year, we hopped across the stepping stones to avoid getting wet. Then follow the path up into the trees, looking out for butterflies.

We carried on following the path up to Aiguafreda de Dalt. If you continue on this path, you can follow it all the way back to Font dels Enamorats.

Pass through Aiguafreda de Dalt, going past the Sant Marti church. There is a picnic bench outside the church. This time we turned off at the parking area opposite the Ecogranja Salgot. This is a pig farm which you can visit by booking in advance.

The small path from the Ecogranja takes you back down to the main path near the beginning of the trail. At this point, we followed the river to find somewhere to have a picnic. Then headed back to Font dels Enamorats and filled up with water. Great route to do with kids, easy and only a few parts in the sun. Better when there's more water.

Aparca al lado de la residencia y la Font dels Enamorats. Es una ruta muy fácil y la gran mayoría de ella está en la sombra. Hay un tren hasta Aiguafreda but el principio de la ruta está a unos kilometros de la estación entonces no es ideal.

Hicimos la misma ruta el mismo día el año pasado y nos sorprendió la diferencia en la cantidad de agua en el río. El año pasado estaba muy lleno y bajaba el agua pero este año era muy seco, no bajaba el río y donde había agua, eras charquitos. Que necesitamos que llueve!

Aún así, vale la pena hacer la ruta. Este año la variamos un poco. Empezamos siguiendo las señales PR (blanco y amarillo) para Riera de Martinet/Aiguafreda de Dalt y seguimos la pista al lado del río 8seco). El primer gorg es La Reclosa, casi seco (julio 2021) y el segon, un poco más adelante, El Gorg de la Sort. El año pasado había una pequeña cascada y se podía bañar aquí, este año no caía agua y había un charco. Había menos gente pero no era para bañarse. Cruza el puente y subir el otro lado. Hay una cuerda para ayudar (que realmente no hace falta pero igual si ha llovido, sí).

Arriba, en esta parte de la ruta, hace mucho sol. Pero no es muy largo, y pronto llegas a La Frau, Centre d'art i natura de Paco Ballesteros. Hay unas esculturas muy chulas.

Y después, siga la ruta hacia la derecha cruzando el río (seco). El año pasado, saltamos en las piedras en el agua para no mojarnos. Siga el sendero para arriba, buscando mariposas.

Nosotros seguimos la ruta hasta Aiguafreda de Dalt. Si sigues recto, puedes llegar hasta El Font dels Enamorats y el principio de la ruta.

Cruzamos Aiguafreda de Dalt y pasamos delante de la Iglesia de Sant Marti. Hay una mesa fuera donde puedes parar a comer. Nosotros seguimos y giramos a la derecha en el parking que está en frente de la Ecogranja Salgo, una granja de cerdos que se puede visitar con reserva previa.

El sendero de la Ecogranja nos llevó a la pista principal cerca del principio de la ruta. Nosotros volvimos al río en búsqueda de agua para refrescarnos y comer. Y después volvimos al Font dels Enamorats para llenar las cantimploras.

Es muy buena ruta para hacer con niños, fácil y la mayoría de la ruta esta en la sombra. Más divertida cuando hay más agua en el rio.
