Itinerary description

Sharing with you another Beginner Plus Trail of Ayn Alshariyah in Taween Wadi, Fujairah area.

My Non Commercial and Non Profit Hiking Community friendly personal FB Page dedicated to UAE Hiking information and Trails.
https://www.facebook.com/Patricks-Hikes-101251445547970

Most of the hikers in UAE already know about this popular route.
This Trail is laid by Fujairah adventures and it is one of the best Trails that gives a wealth of exposure to various coloured hills, different coloured Rocks, ancient Petroglyphs, Functional farms with vegetable / fruits in the gardens, Agricultural Water channels known as Falaj system, Various formations of Rock Layers and excellent views of the Yibir / Mebrah mountain range.

The access road to the Trail is a mix of Asphalted and Mud offroad. The Asphalted road of Yibir mountain is damaged in certain parts and needs caution and concentration while driving. Any car can reach the hike area, but caution is needed in steep sections.

At the base of the Yibir mountain, the Graded offroad that leads to Sidaqah village has to be taken. Once you reach steep down to the village, the road takes you through the village to the starting point of the Hike.

Parking is very limited near the start point close to the village, so best is to park bit away so as not to block the roads as Locals inhabitants still live there and use the road. They will not appreciate you or your vehicles blocking their way.

The Trail head can be reached by searching on google maps for Fujairah Adventures Ain Alsheria Hiking Trail.

The GPS coordinates are 25.606475, 56.153405

I suggest you park 500 Meters before this area.

We also saw many cars parked on other side of the mountain, where there is ample of space available. That area is also part of the trail, just after the midpoint.

That area GPS coordinates are 25.606475, 56.153405
You could park here and start the hike here too, but you need to study the Trail path as you need to enter into the Farm for the Trail.

Please study the trail map, the geography and plan accordingly.
Best would be to download gpx file of the trail and follow it.

The Trail is well laid, so no chances of getting lost.
Almost there are no shades except for small trees, so for a group of 10 persons, you may not find enough rest shelter. Most of the Trail is exposed to Sun except to the starting point Wadi area.

There are few Elevation gain Ascent hills, which may seem difficult but not actually difficult.

This is good for Beginner hikes.
in very few places there are very short stretches of exposed places, so need to be careful.
Its perfectly safe as long as you are concentrating on the trail.

Almost at the Midpoint of the Trail, you will find a Big Cubicle Rock which has Petroglyphs of various meanings.

Unfortunately few visitors seemed to have engraved Graffiti etc, so now the rock is fenced, but still be viewed.

Next to this Rock, there is a steep Rocky mountain, which majority of the hikers climb. At few places it is exposed and steep terrain with few drops, so be careful climbing it.

The Trail has lots of variations of colours and shapes of the rocks and Rock formation Layers.
This whole area is a dream place for geologists as the nature of the terrain is very rare to find.
In the same area, the rock formations, their designs and colours vary.

Take usual care while hiking with plenty of Hydration, Electrolytes, shades, suitable clothing, First aid, Snacks, Navigation and Common sense.

Enjoy your hike.

Is there an area to camp at the beginning of this hike?

    Hi Maria,

From the hike start point, there are very limited spots for camping as it is a functional village.

You could camp and hike the same trail from Ghar Khail location as that access is away from village, but has abandoned farms / ancient houses.
This location is along this route, meaning you can hike this loop trail from this location too.

Approximate location is here. AWD or 4X4 vehicle will be helpful.

You may have to scout around a perfect place to camp, there are flat areas.

Then you can start your hike clockwise / anticlockwise. No issues.
At the end, it is a loop trail.

Let me know if this info is sufficient.
