Itinerary description
I started from Alajero, stationed the car in front of the “ayuntamiento”. You find the path right there going up to Imada. It’s a short bid by the main road, but after about 10-15min there is already the sign “barranco Santiago”. From there it’s all straight forward. You slowly go all the way down into the barranco till you see a couple of villages. That’s where it goes uphill again to Targa. Just be AWARE: by the time I did the treck (dec 5th 2020) about 15min before getting to Targa about a meter of the trail was washed off by the rain it seemed. It’s a very steep part of the path and depending on your fitness it can get dangerous as there is no other hold and if you slip that’s it, it goes all the way down. I have crawled myself onto the mountain did a big step. Alternatively you might find another way to climb above it. I did contact the local authorities to take a look. Once you’ve reached Target you’ve almost made it. The 2km to Alajero are east.
