Alava1000+ 1024 m San Justi

Según mendikat.net, en Álava existen casi 250 montes de mil metros o más. Éste es el San Justi, de 1024 metros

Cumbre de los montes de Izki al Este de Arluzea/Arriluzea (781 m). El nombre de esta despejada cima parece provenir de una ermita que se situó en sus inmediaciones y que estuvo bajo la advocación de San Justi. Es una elevación muy modesta, apenas diferenciada dentro de la sierra salvo en la vertiente Sur que cae hacia el collado de Arluzea (966 m). Sin embargo, dispone de una gran panorámica sobre los bosques de Izki

Mi ascensión

Fácil ascensión, que se inicia en Arluzea. La única pequeña complicación puede ser la subida desde Arluzea (750 m), con algún corto tramo del 18% pero siempre por pista muy cómoda y ancha. Al llegar a las proximidades de las ruinas del corral de Ramón (960 m), la subida finaliza y ya se llanea hasta la cima de San Justi, pasando antes por una cruz de hierro desde la que se otea el valle hasta Arluzea. Esta meseta es un espacio abierto, con algunos árboles y arbustos desperdigados

La cima de San Justi tiene un par de hitos y unas preciosas vistas sobre el bosque de Izki. Tras esta cima, fuimos hasta La Balzarra (1005 m), otra cima que ya hemos visitado anteriormente. Desde el desvío hacia La Balzarra hay sólo unos 600 metros pero se hacen por un bosque de hayas y coníferas en el que hay algunos ejemplares de acebos realmente preciosos

Desde La Balzarra hasta Arluzea se vuelve por una pista forestal de tierra, dejando a la derecha la cresta que hemos caminado anteriormente desde la cruz de hierro hasta San Justi

Poca cosa más. Ruta fácil y entretenida, fácil de seguir

Summit of the Izki mountains east of Arluzea/Arriluzea (781 m). The name of this clear summit seems to come from a hermitage that was located in its vicinity and that was under the invocation of San Justi. It is a very modest elevation, hardly differentiated within the mountain range except on the southern slope that falls towards the mountain pass of Arluzea (966 m). However, it has a great panoramic view over the Izki forests

My ascent

Easy ascent, starting in Arluzea. The only minor challenge may be the ascent from Arluzea (750 m), with some short stretch of 18% but always on a very comfortable and wide track. When arriving near the ruins of Ramón’s barnyard (960 m), the ascent ends and the route flattens out to the summit of San Justi, passing first by an iron cross from where you can see the valley up to Arluzea. This plateau is an open space, with some scattered trees and bushes

The top of San Justi has a couple of milestones and beautiful views over the Izki forest. After this summit, we went to La Balzarra (1005 m), another summit we have visited before. From the detour to La Balzarra, there are only about 600 meters but they are done through a forest of beech and conifers in which there are some really beautiful specimens of holly trees

From La Balzarra to Arluzea we return along a dirt farm track, leaving on the right the ridge that we have previously walked from the iron cross to San Justi
