Según mendikat.net, en Álava existen casi 250 montes de mil metros o más. Éste es el Arrizazen, de 1058 metros

Mi ascensión

Subida sencilla desde Ibarguren, donde se deja el coche. No hay aparcamiento público así que hay que tratar de no molestar a los vecinos

La ruta es fácil de seguir en todo momento, sin posibilidad de pérdida. No hay grandes pendientes. Se sube por un bosque de hayas en donde existe algún tramo de una antigua calzada usada para subir ganado, pero no demasiado cómoda para nuestros pies

En mi ascenso encontré algo de hielo y nieve, sobre todo a partir de los 800 metros de altitud. No tuve ningún problema aunque hay que andar con las precauciones sabidas, para evitar resbalones. Tras coronar el puerto de Andoin, se desciende un poco hasta dejar la pista principal por la derecha, entrando en una plataforma por la que caminamos hasta la cima. La cima no tiene más que unas cuantas piedras amontonadas. Desde la cumbre, que es una pequeña elevación herbosa, se divisa perfectamente el valle de Sakana



La bajada se realiza por el mismo camino

En resumen, paseo fácil y sin demasiado interés montañero

Nota: las indicaciones de los desvíos que se facilitan en el itinerario corresponden a la subida. Es decir, si el WPT marca “Izquierda”, es un desvío a la izquierda al subir, pero a la derecha al bajar

My ascent

Easy ascent from Ibarguren, where the car is left. There is no public parking so try not to disturb the neighbors

The route is easy to follow at all times, with no possibility of getting lost. There are no steep slopes. It climbs through a beech forest where there is a stretch of an old road used to raise cattle, but not too comfortable for our feet

In my ascent I found some ice and snow, especially from 800 meters altitude. I did not have any problems, although it is necessary to walk with the known precautions to avoid slipping. After crowning the Andoin pass, we descend a little to leave the main track on the right, entering a platform where we walk to the top. The summit has nothing more than a few stones piled up. From the summit, which is a small grassy elevation, the Sakana valley is perfectly visible



The descent is made by the same path

In short, easy walk and without too much mountaineering interest
