Itinerary description

Alcalá de la Jovada- park in the large dirt parking lot to the right past the swimming pool/bar. Then walk through the town and out to the ruins of the old morisco settlement (repopulated later by Christians from Mallorca). Follow the well-marked paths to the top of the ridge with views of the Vall de Gallinera. There is a short detour to the Cova de Moros, with the stone wall and windows. Then you make your way up to the main attraction: la Forada, with stunning views of the valley below. Then, make your way over the ridge following the stone piles, and up the the Penya Gros summit at 821m. Then, a final stretch of uphill before a steep descent to the road and back to the village.
