Itinerary description
Alcudia - Coll de na Benet - Sa Cova Tancada - Playa del Coll Baix - loop back.
Very scenic route with nice variety of terrain. While the majority is clearly signed and the trail obvious, there are sections that require more care and comfort route finding and moving in alpine terrain. The route to Sa Cova Tancada changes from a well-defined path to a steep descent down the cliff bands that can be challenging for less experienced hikers or people with vertigo. The cave is not visible or obvious until just before the entrance. In the cavern there are different chambers, beautiful rock formations and stalagmites and stalactites. A flashlight is essential, and care required to explore as with any cave.
The other section to take precaution is the last ~0.3km to Playa del Coll Baix. The path is clear until after a short rock set of stairs where you start to traverse the rocks just above the water line which can be very slippery.
NOTE: my garmin watch recorded the distance as 17km and 920 m elevation gain - just for reference for planning as the wikiloc recording is not as accurate.
