Itinerary description
An easy walk albeit with a steep climb back into Alhama at the end. The initial track reveals views to the summit of Maroma to the south, then after forking left and ascending slightly for a little while the track descends through mixed woodlands to reach the edge of the lake created by the dam on the Rio Alhama, an ideal stop for a picnic. Beyond here the walk crosses the dam and then enters the gorge of the Rio Ahama with its impressive cliffs and the ruins of several mills before the final ascent into the town for Alhama. Abus service will return you to the starting point of the walk, Alcaiceria at 1630. Ask for directions to the bus stop
