Itinerary description
An attempt to find the circular route to the peak of Patarra.
We had no map, and the marked route was poorly marked. At one point one of the few marker poles was 0ut of the ground and appeared to indicate continuing up river valley, rather than climbing out of the valley. We assume that the trail on the opposite bank was the trail we should have followed. We ended up further up river a couple of KM before following another infrequently signposted path to Cerro Acebuchal, but by the time we reached the ruined house halfway up the hillside that we had definitely taken the wrong track, so we had a picnic in the shade of the Almond trees and enjoyed the great views, before retracing our steps back down the river valley to Almáchar,
