Itinerary description
This is a relatively easy loop following PR5 - AVZ, a local marked trail in Alvaiázere, central Portugal. The trail is generally marked, but there are some twists and turns to watch out for. There is also one section of a long steady climb, but other than that, generally flat. The area is beautiful open scrubland and olive groves. Rosemary and mint lines the trail in many places and one has clear views of the Serra da Alvaiázere with its windmills. Note: park near the chapel in Banhosa (just a crossroads) at the end of that handle at the west of the marked route.
