Itinerary description
Alvorge - Coimbra
I walked with Analese originally from Belgium but has lived in a few countries. We had common acquaintances on this camino. She was walking at a good pace, so we kept together for a bit. We passed by this mini village/cathedral someone had setup with free apples, snacks, drinks and artwork. I had a much needed apple and cooled down in a chair with shade. I saw two guys walking toward us as I was leaving so I walked toward them to say hello. One of them was Paul from Ireland. I had met him in a cafe the day before. Bethany had told me about an Irishman who had taken a fall and scratched up his face. He was surprised when I knew his name and where he was from. People become famous on the camino before they know it. I run into people who will say “I heard about you”. It is a good idea to wear the same cap everyday and have something about your state (college or pro team will get you some contacts). Back to the Irishman. I told him as a joke I heard he was the drunk Irishman getting into fights. We followed up by laughing for a good 30 minutes or so in the cafe while he was calling about accommodations. After some past Camino stories he said we should write a book. He said Bethany has his number. I would like to see how it goes goes for him. Bethany did say he was asking about me as I was curious about him.
