Itinerary description

The circular walk to SALDIAS starts at the farm of Mindegia at the western-most point of the circular Ridge Top Walk from our house. It offers a dramatic 8km extension to the Ameztia Ridge Top Walk continuing out westwards along further ridge tops to the traditional village of SALDIAS, notable for the preserved models of bread ovens on the side of the houses. Apart from a short sharp 100m ascent near the beginning the walk, this walk offers the dramatic panoramic views of the more complex walks without too much climbing and birds eye views of the villages of LABAIEN and SALDIAS. The return is along old walking paths lined with chestnut trees and past bucolic fields with their stone bordas. To return to the house return to the farm at Mindegia and return on our Ameztia Ridge Top Walk back to the house
