Itinerary description
This walk starts from the parking of the Public Park "Atalaya de Gandía" a green oasis on the south side of Antequera. This park is situated above the city and provides wonderful views of the Pena de Los Enamorados, the Sierra de la Camorra and the plain of the Antequera valley.
From this park you can follow the white/red signposted track of the GR 249 to Pinar del Hacho a Suburban Park which provides even more beautiful views and natural viewpoints on the almost blinding white of Antquera, the pinnacles of its many churches, and the Alcazaba fortress with its imposing walls.
There are many tracks that you can follow through Pinar del Hacho and at times you will get a glimpse of the top of the Hacho Tower, towering above the pines. However, we did not follow the track towards the tower itself but circled around it.
The vegetation is quite Mediterranean, even the sand is present as if you are walking through dunes close to the sea.
Along the most southern part of the track you will have superb views on the impressive ridge of Camorro Alto, with its peak of 1378m.
The last part of the walk, north-east direction, skims the ridge of Pinar del Hacho descending gradually to Atalaya de Gandía Park along a stony track.
