Itinerary description
It’s not one way. It’s there and back.
In reality back and forth to Ifasina takes much less time but I took too many pictures breaks and also recorded buying and negotiating woodcraft.
There’s only one road across the mountains from Antoetra to Ifasina so no other options to return.
Guides told us it should take about 4 hours to walk back and forth.
By van it should take 3 hours (one way) from Ambositra to Antoetra so allow an entire day for this hike.
Most of the track is pretty easy walking but some parts are tricky.
A guide is a good idea to deal with local people and probably you have to meet the chief in Ifasina.
Don’t do this hike when it rains as some parts might become mudpools or very slippery.
