Itinerary description

Moving time (normal pace): 5h 5 mins
Distance covered: 19,3 Kms

Between 3,2 km - 4,4 km the path is not clear from vegetation.
As a result, at some points, it is a bit difficult to walk without having to move small branches.
The view from both chapels is extremely beautiful, especially to watch the sun diving into the sea.

Enjoy

The path is very beautiful on sunny days but it’s also very difficult to follow in 2 points at least.

The first one is after the peak S3. You literally have to walk through the trees and it’s not easy at all. I was about to quit and go back. Then I finally found a way and went through.

The second bit was immediately after Profiti Ilia’s, ob my way to the other Aghios. It was again a pain to follow the track: I just found my way but I still had to walk trough and sometimes step up on trees, not really enjoyable. Most of the downhill from Profit ilia’s was like this.

Finally, also the final bit to Agios Simonis was a bit hard but there were only bushes, not trees, so nothing in comparison with the previous bits I mentioned.

Since I spent a good amount of time finding my way, after Aghios Simonis I decided to quit the track as I did not know whether the teaming part of the route would be similar to what I did tree-wise. I left Aghios Simonis by the paved road and then I used google maps to come back to Apollonia. It took me one hour to go back and I did walk on one of the Sifnos marked trails.

If you plan to go for this trek, ensure you have long trousers and sleeves and put into account additional time to find the route. Keep in mind you are embarking in something adventurous.

    Hi,

Apologies for getting you into trouble.
I did the trail almost 7 years ago and, from what I remember, most of it, was relatively ok.
I see I also mention in the description that for about a km I found it difficult to cross the vegetation.
Maybe, after all this time, it became even more problematic.
So, thank you very much for your update.
Other users of the app, may find it useful!
