Itinerary description
This is a linear walk on good wide tracks with gentle slopes, views through the trees and across the lakes. One of the slopes is a little longer going up but should be no trouble to any one, as time can be taken on this.
After the breakfast stop at the Venta El Cruce Ardales we will boot up here and take the bags on the coach with us, the coach will continue up the MA357 for some 3km before dropping us off at the side of the main road, so please take care when leaving the coach.
We then make our way down a wide track with open farm fields on both sides heading towards Embalse del Guadalhorce, before turning right down a short concrete road and into a wooded area. The track continues mainly through this wooded area but opens up at times with views over the Embalse up to El Chorro and beyond. We continue along this track up and down two small hills, at the top of the second one we stop for our picnic lunch.
After lunch we make our way down in to the valley where we turn left heading a little closer to the lake, passing along the side of the lake before turning right up the longer of the slopes still on good tracks. By now I think some of the walkers will realize where they are, as we approach the top of the hill passing where the Burial caves are. We then make our way down the track until we reach the road, we turn right down the road for 1km before we get to the coach and the La Posada del Conde Hotel for refreshments.
