Itinerary description

In the small village of Artavaz, on the way to Hankavan, starts a beautiful valley that hides a big surprise: an impressive rocky massif of white granite, great for scrambling and climbing in a very peculiar landscape.

The first part of the route consists in just following up the river until the valley narrows. There we wil start to scramble up a buttress and follow the obvious ridge in a fun, entertaining and beautiful route..
The way has no special difficulties but it requires occasional use of hands and not be afraid of heights, as some parts are quite exposed.

when we get to the summit walls of the mountain, the route turns to the left to look for an almost lost trail that comes down gently on the left side of the valley.

The summit walls can be climbed easily but require rope and climbing equipment. A climbing route is described also in this wikiloc page:

* Artavaz ridge (climbing route; 'Luciamore' FA, V+ max, 430m )
