Itinerary description
Nice, easy and interesting walk leading to the plains/plateau of La Mérica. Is it because it looks like the dry part of America or maybe because you could see America from here over the ocean?
Beautiful views, dry landscape and views on El Hierro and La Palma providing clear sky.
You can walk along the edge to have views on The Valle Gran Rey valley but we found out too late. After the viewpoint you should leave the official path and look for one at the left side.
Bar restaurant El Jape in Arure is a good starting point for a coffee at the start or lunch after the hike. But you can park the car also more towards the mirador or even further where the dirt road of the walk starts.
