🇪🇸 🇺🇸 | Pico de Puchilibro – Ruta por la cresta | Castillo de Loarre (Huesca)

🇪🇸 Español: Ruta circular de unos 7km hasta el Pico de Puchilibro, el la localidad de Loarre, en Huesca.

Nosotros aparcamos en el mismo parking gratuito del Castillo de Loarre. Así, al final de la ruta se puede visitar el Castillo. Las entradas para visitar el castillo se pueden comprar en la página castillodeloarre.es. Empezamos la ruta desde el mismo aparcamiento donde hay paneles informativos mostrando las distintas rutas que nos ofrece la zona. Nosotros optamos por hacer la número 2, que asciende al Pico de Puchilibro.

El primer tramo de la subida se hace por el bosque. Hay desnivel pero no es nada complicado. El segundo tramo es por la cresta, y nos ofrece unas preciosas vistas panorámicas hacia la Hoya de Huesca. El camino no es muy estrecho, ni peligroso y diríamos que es apto para niños acostumbrados a la montaña (por el desnivel y el camino rocoso). También existe la posibilidad de subir por otro camino que no sea por la cresta y llegar al mismo punto. Durante el trayecto, hay carteles que indican este otro camino, que pasa por la Fuente de Perena.

El descenso tiene algunos tramos empinados con pedrera donde hay que tener cuidado para evitar resbalones. Durante el descenso paramos por el mirador para poder disfrutar de las vistas hacia el Castillo de Loarre y la Hoya de Huesca en general. Un mirador precioso y una parada indispensable durante esta ruta.

Esta ruta es ideal para hacer en cualquier temporada del año y apta para todos. Le hemos puesto la dificultad como moderada por su desnivel positivo (aunque no sea mucho), por la cresta y los tramos de bajada con pedrera. A pesar de eso, tiene un entorno precioso y es una ruta corta que merece la pena hacerla!!

🇺🇸 English: Circular route of about 7km to the Pico de Puchilibro, in the town of Loarre, in Huesca.

We parked in the same free parking of the Castillo de Loarre. Thus, at the end of the route you can visit the castle. Tickets to visit the castle can be purchased on the website castillodeloarre.es. We started the route from the same parking lot where there are information panels showing the different routes offered by the area. We chose to do number 2, which ascends to the Pico de Puchilibro.

The first part of the ascent is through the forest. There is a slope but it is not complicated at all. The second stretch is along the ridge, and offers beautiful panoramic views of the Hoya de Huesca. The path is not very narrow, nor dangerous and we would say that it is suitable for children who are used to hiking ( due to the slope and the rocky path). There is also the possibility of going up another way that is not via the ridge and arrive at the same point. Along the way, there are signs indicating this other path, which passes by the Fuente de Perena.

The descent has some steep sections with rocks where you have to be careful to avoid slipping. During the descent we stopped by the viewpoint to enjoy the views towards the Castle of Loarre and the Hoya de Huesca in general. This is a beautiful vantage point and an essential stop during this route.

This route is ideal for any season of the year and suitable for everyone. We have set the difficulty rating as moderate because of its positive slope (although it is not much), the ridge and the downhill sections with rocky sections. In spite of that, it has a beautiful environment and it is a short route that is worth doing!
