Itinerary description

This is the track that you will need to find the geocache near the top of mountain Manucoco. The URL to the geocache page will follow shortly.

The starting point of the is track is the main (only) north-south route across the island.

From the south coast, you should be able to get a 4WD car that would bring you to this point for around $20 per person, but you may need to do some serious bargaining to get it down to this rate.

But you prefer and feel brave, you could also hike or mountain bike to the starting point of this trail. Separate trail to get to this point will be uploaded soon.

Due to limited time, we didn't have time to complete our track, but according to the local population, this tracks is also the easiest track to get to the top of mount Manucoco. From one of the way points, you need to continue the track, but we don't have a trail for that path yet, so you will need to do some work to get you to the top.

Location of Geocache Atauro

This is the exact location of the geocache. See webpage: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e853f4a8-b7d5-45a1-858c-96575600faa6 The cache is hidden at the foot of small bush that as at the top of the ridge. If coming from the North, to avoid climbing up a few meters, pass by the cache location on the track first and then after 20 meters or so, you can easily walk back. As there is quite a drop near the cache location, be very careful and note that the cache is at least 1.5 meters from the cliff.
