Baiona - Vigo

Slow and disorganized average breakfast served at 8am.

TRACK
Turn left exiting hotel, go through the pubs/restaurant/shops street uphill until you get to Cruceiro da Santísima Trinidade. Turn left and then right following the arrows.

At around 7.4km there´s a roundabout. Follow the arrows and go over the blue bridge to do the coastal Camino, otherwise following the bollards will take you to the litoral Camino.

After exiting the blue bridge continue along the blue rail (around 170mts) and when it finishes, turn left to go on dirt track and back to Nigran/Rúa Rosalia de Castro.

This will take just after the roundabout with NIGRAN letters and on to Rúa Rosalid de Castro. Turn right to Rúa Telleiras, with stop at café Rio Tinto. Follow the bollard on that street and further arrows.

There is a waterfall around 17km.

As coming to the end of the stage (nasty wild track) you will come to a busy road. Turn right to Parque de Castrelos. Give option to catch taxi to hotel and it should be no more than 8euros fare.

HIGHLIGHTS
Puente románico de la Ramallosa - this stone bridge dates from the twelfth century and was built by the then Bishop of Tuy. A long time ago, tradition held that this bridge was related to fertility rites.

Vigo - The city is spread along the shores of a 30 km long ría (inlet), called Ría de Vigo and just 25 km from Portugal. Due to this strategic location, Vigo was already a trading city in ancient times and is currently one of the principal European ports, with an important industrial infrastructure (shipyards, canning plants, and companies from automobile and granite industries).
But Vigo has much more to offer than just its industry. The old quarters of the city lie within the limits of its ancient ramparts. The lower part is of great tourist interest with its Piedra (stone) market and square, Cesteros (basket maker’s) street, neoclassic Saint Mary’s collegiate church, Constitution square and the O Berbés fishing village. This part of the city contrasts with modern buildings in the rest of Vigo. The city has grown rapidly during recent years and has not only become the nerve centre of Galicia but also the most populated city in this region.
Vigo is especially well known for its white sandy beaches and for the Cíes Islands (15 km from Vigo) − a beautiful nature park, with one of the most important ecosystems along the Galician coastline, and a privileged breeding ground for marine birds.
