Itinerary description
It is about a 4 hour walk approximately - a half hour break included - at a slow pace with some ascent that if you go quietly and enjoying the surroundings you don't even notice. The rise is mainly at the beginning which in wintertime is good to get warmed up.
At Baixador de Vallvidrera, right away you pass the old Vil.la Joana, a clinic where Verdaguer died in 1902, a well known writer, regarded as one of the greatest poets of Catalan literature.
You walk through the forest and come up to a higher level where you have great views even of the ocean. You follow through little and wider paths that take you
- 1. to an old aquaduct /acuaducto de Collserola. You cross just over it, following the path towards CAN BORRELL
- 2. to a dam lake BORRELL which is hidden within the forest.
Then you just keep on going following the well indicated trail. You descend through urbanized areas to Cerdanyola del Vallès.
Both, the starting point as well as the final destination in the center of Cerdanyola are very well connected by local trains:
GO: Barcelona - Baixador de Vallvidrera: Take the S2- train from the main station of the FERROCARRILES at Plaça Catalunya, achievable within "zona 1"
RETURN: Cerdanyola del Vallès train station of the CERCANIES = RODALIES - centre of Barcelona with an extra 2 zone ticket.
Have fun!
