Itinerary description
Bamboo Mountain is a pristine valley on the south east coast of Mauritius, bordering the last endemic forest on the island. It’s not that difficult, but it’s really long way to go what makes it not that easy. However it’s definitely worth that. Beautiful nature. A lot of mosquitos!!!!! Easy to find a road as soon as you get to the start point in the forest. I suggest to follow my trail backwards, because we started to go through the real jungle, but back way found a normal road.
Better if you do it in the morning. We usually start our hiking at 6am when it’s not that hot. And it it was raining better postpone your adventure, because it’s really really slippery (I fall badly 5 times).
