Itinerary description

Barranc de Capafonts

English below!

I’ve rated this route as difficult because it’s a bit longer and it has some tricky parts from a technical point of view: there’s a steep ascent at the beginning and a longish descent with loose gravel towards the end. Bring sturdy shoes! On the other hand orientation is easy during this walk.
Some parts of the route do not have a lot shade, so protect yourself from the sun!

I won’t write a detailed description for this route, but I wanted to give some general points of reference:
The route starts at the entrance of the village, where free parking space is available. It follows the highway TV7041 during a while, until there’s a signpost on the right hand side indicating the ascending path to La Foradada, a beautiful arch of rock.
We go on ascending a bit more, keeping to the right. It soon becomes obvious that we are walking around a spectacular little canyon. This makes the route quite obvious, because during large sections of the route there’s actually just one path.
This changes when we’re surrounding the peak of the canyon, so here we can follow the indications towards the little well Font Nova, where we can also have a little break.
Afterwards we’re following the signposts towards Capafonts (turning twice to the right) and to Pont de Goi.
Pont de Goi is another stone arch that we first have to cross, only to walk below it instantly.
This point initiates a long, steep descent.
At the end of this part the trails reaches a wider pathway which we take towards the left. It will bring us to the village of Capafonts.
But first we really should make a little detour to a beautiful little place called Les Tosques. A signpost will show us the way on the right side of the path.
Les Tosques is a tiny natural swimming pool formed by a local river. Bring your bathing suit in summer!
Back on the wider path it is easy to find the way during the last part of the route. We go on towards the village, ascend towards it, cross it and go back to our car.
