Itinerary description

Alternate route from La Calzada to St. Brigida
If you walk from La Calzada to St. Brigida you will usually follow the wide and totally flat bottom of the Barranco de la Angostura at the wide bo. For about 2.5km there is no shadow, either.
An alternate is to follow the Barranco Colegio and the cross over to the Barranco de la Angostura at Los Olivos. The upside is a long walk in the shadow and a much more interesting surrounding. The downside is a longer walk (about 800 meters more) and an additional up/down-climb of about 75m.
At the resting place of La Calzada take the path to the sout-east which leads directly to the bottom of the Barranco del Colegio. Follow the bottom up to a short ladder that helps to overcome a step at the bottom of the barranco. Just about 20m afterwards leave the bottom to follow a trail to the west.
This trail reaches the Camino a Los Olivos, the street that follows the top of the ridge which separates the Barranco del Colegio and the Barranco de la Angostura.
After crossing the street follow the small street to some houses on the ridge and turn again to the west just between the last two houses (a quite small but public path).
Follow the path, turn north at the first junction and then keep to the east when in doubt. Otherwise you may miss the path that leads down to the Barranco de la Angostura.
Once on that path there are no more deveations until you reach the broad path at the bottom which comes from La Calzada.
The path may be slippery in wet conditions.
