Itinerary description

Note: This is a route for Saturdays as La Modelo Former Prison is only open on Saturdays.

Starting at Metro Entença on the Blue line (L5) we first visit the former prison.
Upon leaving the prison we walk towards las Arenas shopping centre passing via Joan Miro park. The site of Joan Miro occupies what was once the main slaughterhouse of Barcelona.

Note that inside Las Arenas shopping complex it is well worth taking the escalator or lift up to the top where there is a 360º viewpoint with circular route round to top of the building.

When leaving Las Arenas, continue across Plaza España by the venetian towers and towards the magic fountains. The up escalator is on the right and can be taken to the top where we find MNAC (Museo Nacional d'Art de Catalunya)
