Itinerary description
You can take the bus right up to the beginning of the trail.
In the middle of the trail we had overgrown bush we had to walk trough, that makes it hard to walk trough (wear long pants) :). I do not know if this path is being maintained.
There is water, but not at the end of the trail. We carried 5 liter water for 2 persons. We also had a water filter so we were able to filter water at any time. It can become very hot in this area, make sure you protect yourself from the sun! Don't trust water sources, they can be dried up. We saw 3 people when hiking in this area.
We hiked with camping gear, it was an amazing experience with beautiful nature. We absolutely recommend it.
Camping spot:
Roque el Castillete - 6.5 km - You can see the sunset and sunrise from this position.
There are plenty of opportunities for camping along the trail.
At the end of the trail, we had to hike to Ayacata to take the bus.
