Itinerary description
Hike from the book Randos Bière en Belgique.
Starting from the charming little town of Diksmuide, accessible by train from Brussels. There are plenty of shops and cafes in the town.
The route is in large part road walking, but there's not much traffic, except for bikes. It's completely flat. There are a few interesting World War I sites along the way.
I got slightly off trail just before km 7 - do not cross the bridge at waypoint 9! The last km or 2, I deviated from the track as described in the book - after the Delhaize, the bike path was overgrown, I just took the main road.
The Verstraete brewery is only open on Sundays, but you can find the Papegaei beer in plenty of cafes and shops around town.
